It has been exactly one year since the first time I got hair extensions from Hotloxs Hair and I am still 100% in love with the brand.

I have to admit I was so nervous the first time I got a pre-bonded full head of Holoxs Hair extensions but one year on my hair is still in really good condition and with Hotloxs Hair now giving customers 32 different colours to choose from, my hair is looking better and better.

This time I chose to go slightly lighter with summertime coming. So I was given a slightly lighter brown and lots of copper lights going through my hair. Overall it's a lot softer than the dark chocolate brown I had before.

The Beauty Diary: New Hotloxs Hair Extensions

I'm in love with my new Hotloxs!

I am SO SO SO happy with my new Hotloxs Hair Extensions. I have been getting my hair done by the lovely Anna from Hotloxs for nearly two years now and each time the hair is just exquisite.

I've dyed my hair so many different colours in the last two years but everytime Hotloxs match my hair perfectly. Today I got my pre-bonds taken out and a new full head of 100% real human hair extensions put in. The Beauty Diary: My Review Of Salon Vintage

By now you all know I am obsessed with my hair. It's probably the one thing I spend most of my money on because looking good makes you feel good, and having glossy, bouncy hair can give you a serious boost of confidence.

I have tried out a few different places in Dublin now and I have found a new favourite. Salon Vintage has been open just over a year in Walkinstown and it's not your average salon. For all you who hate waiting in your salon, get a different hair dresser every time and can't even get through to your salon, this is the place for you.

Luxurious and relaxing

My favourite thing about Salon Vintage is that the experience is so personal. On arriving to the venue last week, I walked into a quaint Salon with two lovely stylists greeting me and taking my coat. Instead of a sneery receptionist and dozens of people running around, there were only a few customers getting treatments and everybody was relaxed.

I was seated straight away and I knew I was dealing with a professional when I met Ashleigh O'Reilly, the owner. I still have my have my Hotloxs Hair Extensions in and I wanted to get it styled, Ashleigh knew exactly how much to cut off and she has dealt with extensions before. It's hard to find someone who isn't afraid to cut, style and colour extensions.

After a lovely warm wash and a luxurious head massage and I was given a large cup of coffee with two cute Mr Kiplings (my favourite).

Throughout the entire process I had Ashleigh's undivided attention and the quality of Salon Vintage's products are amazing. I got a few inches taken off my hair as well as a treatment which made my hair softer than it has been in months. On top of that Ashleigh used a wand to create natural beach waves, which I loved.

I have to say that the one thing I loved about Salon Vintage is their customer interaction. Other salons can be very pricey and most of the time it's loud and noisy and you can't even get a booking. In Salon Vintage customer's are the number one priority.

They also offer recession busting deals which is amazing. So many salons have their prices hiked up right now but Ashleigh offers her customer deals on cut and colour, blow-drys and she is considering bringing in a nail artist.

Another unique point about Salon Vintage is that they have an experienced hair extensions technician and in just two hours you can transform your hair from short and thin to long and volumized for a great price. Top Dublin model and co-owner of Crystals & Co Leah O'Reilly (Ashleigh's sister) recently got her extensions done and they look amazing.

This has to be my favourite Beauty Diary to date because this is the hair style I have been aiming to get for soooo long. And it's all thanks to the amazing Hotloxs Hair!

The top Irish hair extensions company have finally set up a studio just off O'Connel Street (above the Tourist Information Centre) and I got to go in for my first balayage installment in the luxurious studio.

When you walk in the door you are graced with top class pictures of Emma Waldron, Georgia Salpa, Karena Graham and Nadia Forde, so you know straight away that you are in good hands.

The company, who style Ireland's top celebs have given me the best extensions I have ever had in the last year, and the best thing is my hair is continuing to grow all the time, I have no hair loss and my natural hair is still thick and glossy.

So let's talk about balayage hair extensions. I have been a massive fan of the celeb trend in recent months and I wanted to go for a quite drastic look. So I moved away from my normal blonde hair and went for a dark brown with light blonde at the ends.

You can get all different types of balayage. More dark hair than light, more light coloured hair than dark or you can do half and half.

So here is how mine turned out. As usual the volume and soft texture of the extensions are second to none with Hotloxs. And the most important thing you have to know is that it only takes them just over 1 hour to install your hair extensions.

Other stylists can take up to five or six  hours to do your hair, which is hugely time consuming and annoying but this will never happen with Hotloxs. They have the best quality in town, they are amazing value and you only need to take an hour out of your day.

The other thing I love about hotloxs is that they have a colour technician who can match your colour perfectly to the extensions. And if you want to change your colour once you have them in it's so easy to dye them.

The Beauty Diary: Hotloxs Saved The Day

This week was such a crazy week for me. You will all know that I am obsessed with my hair and I had a massive hair disaster last weekend, but thank GOD for Hotloxs Hair Extensions they have saved the day once again!

Ok so last weekend I headed back to Limerick for the weekend to spend some time with my family and decided to take out my micro-bead extensions (which was extremely easy, only took 5 mins!) to give my hair a much needed cut.

Once I was in the salon I realised my hair colour needed a top up. I had balayage done not so long ago and because of the bright blonde I used to be, my hair was turning light again. The salon I went to said they could do balayage for me, and my oh my were they wrong.

Horror Hair! :(

Yes shock and horror, look at this crazy image of my hair. My roots were practically black and the rest of my hair was left with patches of blonde, it was such a disaster. The the first thing I did? I called Hotloxs Hair Extensions.

As usual they were absolutey amazing to deal with and fitted me in for an appointment straight away. Before I headed in I threw in some dye of my own to try and avert the disaster but there was still tones of blonde and copper all over the ends of my hair and patches throughout the middle (yes it was dreadful).

Because I was in so much shock over the colour and the messed up tones, Anna gave me some clip ins that could blend in with the different colours.

I have to say if it wasn't for Hotloxs I don't know what I would do with myself! The tones mixed in with my own hair was perfect. I put in a little bit more of a mocha brown on my natural hair and I am loving the new look.

I have been brown brunette before but I let the colour wash out again. This time I will stick to the new darker look, I really love it.

The next step will be putting in some low-lights and copper high-lights to mix it up a little, but I am keeping the darker look for definite.

The Beauty Diary: Rockstar Tan

Dear Beauty Diary,

I've spent the last three years trying to find the perfect tan. I've had tans that were too dark, too thick, not long lasting, too patchy, tan just didn't seem to work for me.

I have naturally sallow skin and put me under the heat of the sun for a half an hour and I'll have a golden colour so living in ice-cold Ireland I want a tan that can give me an even, naturally bronzed skin tone. And now I've found it!

This week I tried out two products from the Irish owned organic tanning company Rockstar Tan, and the packaging alone was so gorgeous I was excited to see what was inside. I got two of their top tanning products: (1) Access All Areas and (2) Fame.

Access All Areas Spray Tan

The two tans have are completely different but the quality is the exact same. Firstly I tried the Access All Areas tan. This is a spray on tan that adjusts to your natural skin tone, for a sun-kissed beach glow. 

It's very easy to apply with a tanning mit, you can see where you are spreading the tan, unlike translucent sprays where you can't see the tan and end up with streaks everywhere.

Colour then deepens over the next 4 to 6 hours creating a lasting golden tan for up to seven days. Plus the tan is made with ingredients suitable for both face and body.

My natural colour is quite sallow so I got a gorgeous medium bronze colour as a result. One of the best things about Rockstar Tan is that it's orderless. Meaning it doesn't have that horrible fake tan smell you normally get.

There is a slight scent but it's more like a nice body cream. The tan is scented with natural organic fragrance. The unique mix of raspberry and almond essences ensure odour free tanning even hours after application.

The tan lasted seven days including washing, and there was no patchiness or streaks which was amazing. I have had very bad experiences with spray on tans so I was extremely happy with the results.

Fame mineral tan

Next up I tried out their newest product Rockstar Tan Fame. This is a wash off instant mineral tan that can be used for both your face and your body and once again the results are amazing.

The organic tan hydrates and nourishes your skin while you wear it, and the colour gives you an instant sun-kissed look and it's odorless like all their tanning products, which is such a huge plus.

Their newest product also has special firming ingredients which helps to r reduce the appearance of fine lineand wrinkles, while tightening facial tissue.

Both tans were brilliant and I'm using them all the time. I wore the Access All Areas tan to the People of The Year Awards last week and only had to top up once since with the Fame tan for an event this weekend.

It's low maintenance with great results, no smell, no streaks and no patches. I normally try to stay away from tan but this is my new favourite beauty product!

The Beauty Diary: Hotloxs Micro-Beads

Dear Beauty Diary,

As you know by now I am obsessed with hair. Hair extensions, hair styles, hair colouring, hair accessories, anything you could possibly think of.

I think it's so important to make yourself feel good and enjoy your own style, that's why I wear hair extensions. At the start of the summer I decided to stop wearing flip ins and clip ins, and instead went for the permanent option.

In my first Hair and Beauty review I tried out Hotloxs Pre-bonded Hair Extensions and I fell in love. The volume, length and colour was all perfectly selected by the top colourist and extension guru Anna from Hotloxs.

From Vogue Williams to Emma Waldron, top Irish celebs have fallen fast and hard for Hotloxs. With gorgeous models Lisa Nolan, Sara Kavanagh, Rachel Wallace, Pamela Ryan and Karena Graham all jumping aboard the Hotloxs trend.

This time around I wanted to try something different. With Hotloxs you can get pre-bonded extensions (no glue is applied to your hair, just a heat applicator that is folded around the top of your hair), weaves, clip ins or micro-beads. So I decided to go for the beads.

Now some people will try and scare you off saying that they are more visible and uncomfortable to sleep on but I haven't come across either problem. Obviously will all hair extensions, the thicker your hair is the better, and if you have really thin hair a half head is always better.

So Anna popped over and took out my pre-bonds that I had in for three months. You always here horror stories about peoples extensions not coming out easily, using acetone and having to cut out chunks of your hair. Well Anna didn't have to use one bit of acetone and all my hair extensions were out with in 15 minutes, and my hair had actually grown from the first time I had the extensions put in.

It's always a great sign to see hair growth, other companies that just use bonded extensions (all glue) will often have clients complain of their hair falling out and being left with just shreds of hair.

After

Micro-beading is one of the best options I have to say. First of all the method is ridiculously easy. You and your pals could order the hair of www.holoxshair.com and put them in yourselves. Secondly these extensions can be taken out at anytime, so if you feel like a change or want a break they can easily be slipped out of your hair.

I have to say it feels great known that there is no glue whatsoever in my hair. It's nice to know I could take them out at anytime but of course I don't want to. Once again the quality of the hair is exceptional. Top stylists have been asking me where I get my hair done and most people don't have a clue that I have extensions at all.

My advice would be for those who are nervous about getting pre-bonded extensions, but you are sick of clip ins, I suggest getting the micro-beads. There is zero damage to your hair, you will get the feel of the extensions and check out the quality of the hair and then you can move on to a more permanent option.
