Most of us will be glued to the TV this Sunday for the Oscars but Hollywood A-lister Michael Madsen has admitted he won't be tuning in to watch the Academy Awards this weekend.
The movie star was in Dublin this week attending the screening of Resevoir Dogs for the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival and said that he thinks the show has gone down the drain.
I chatted with the talented actor on the red carpet and he revealed that he isn't a fan of the Oscars anymore. When asked if he had any favourites for this weekend's awards he said:
"I'm just glad I'm not there. I just think the Oscars have got kind of boring. I like Meryl Streep in that Margaret Thatcher movie (Iron Lady), that was a hands down winner but I think the Oscars have lost it. Maybe it's the times we live in, but I just like independent films and there's not many of them being made because it's so hard to get financing for these things."

Meanwhile Michael spoke about his time in the Celebrity Big Brother house with our very own Georgia Salpa. The actor said he is so glad to be out of the reality series.
"I'm so glad Big Brother is over with. It was kind of a mind-altering experience. I'm not sorry that I did it but I'm glad it's over. It was all about trying to get people to lose their minds but it didn't work with me.
"You have to remember it's all edited. They look for a story line with each person and they cut it that way, but that's not necessarily how it went."

The successful star also admitted he had no idea what Georgia was up to and said he hasn't spoken to any of his celebrity housemates.
But Michael says he would consider doing another reality show but he's in no rush to get himself back on another series.
"I don't know it would depend on what it was. I know more about it now than I did, it's such a crazy thing to do though, you really have to have yourself together to be on a show like that and not turn into a nut, I'm definitely glad I'm over with it."After attending the festival last night Michael then headed to Michelin star restaurant Chapter One where he met up with acting legend Al Pacino. The pair have remained close since they filmed Donnie Brasco back in 1997.
