This makes me hate her even more!!
Hayden Panittere has come under fire for comments she's made about her new lifetime film based on the murder of Meredith Kercher while on Erasmus in Italy.
Hayden plays Amanda Knox, who alongside her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito and an Italian drug dealer, was jailed after they killed student Meredith Kercher when she wouldn't partake in a sex game. Panettiere plays the US student, who was 20 at the time of the murder. Judges concluded in December that Knox and her boyfriend staged a break in to make it look like Meredith was killed by an intruder. And her semi-naked body was found in a pool of blood.
The story alone is extremely controversial but Hayden is making things worse by stating Amanda has "innocence":
"My job was to play a girl who, regardless of what happened, was innocent in who she was. I believe in the person she deep down was and I think no matter, regardless of innocent or guilty, I believe she was a…she has a spirit."

She went on to stand up for the convicted killer:
"You know she’s a real person. She was a young girl with dreams and aspirations and she wanted to go to Italy to broaden her horizons and have experiences and meet new people.And I don’t think that guilty or innocent takes away from that.This is such a vulnerable story, and specifically, Amanda was so needy."Wake up call Hayden! Amanda's prints were found on the murder weapon and Meredith's bra.

In graphic scenes that have proved distressing for the family and friends of the student, Amanda Fernando Stevens, who plays Meredith, is seen pinned to the floor by the three people convicted of her murder. Meredith's father John said the images in the U.S. film are 'absolutely horrific' and has slammed them movie:
"It's so awful what these film people have done. Your imagination runs riot as it is about what happened but to actually see it like this is very different and very distressing.I'm also surprised they went that far in the film. I was told the original brief and synopsis of the film was to take it up to the point of the killing but not actually show the killing itself."
What an absolute disgrace that this film is even being aired. In the adverts for the new flick it is hinted that Amanda is in fact innocent and doesn't deal with the heart-break suffered by the family and loved ones of Meredith.
The families of Amanda and Raffaele are trying to prevent the film from being aired until after their appeal. But I don't think they should have a say in the matter at all! Hayden admitted that by the end of filming she felt conflicted about her murder conviction:
"We spent five weeks talking about it and reading about it and looking at new evidence, trying to form some sort of opinion about it. And it’s like she’s innocent. She’s guilty. She’s innocent. She’s guilty. She’s innocent."I think this whole movie is a disgrace and hugely disrespectful to Meredith's family. Watch the trailer below and tell me what you think:
