Simon Cowell Helped Cheryl Cole Through Tough Times

The creator of the X-factor and ultimate talent judge Simon Cowell has said that singer Cheryl Cole has been through the worst year of her life, and he can't believe how well she's coped.

Speaking about Cheryl's battle with malaria, Simon said it's given the 'Parachute' singer a new perspective on life:
"She seems more focused and it was a wake-up call to her. At the end of the day your health is the most important thing. We have spoken a lot, and now she has got a sense of perspective on life. In a weird way this has helped manage her life better. I think she is going to appreciate what she has and enjoy it more."

Cowell also said that her marriage breakdown put her under immense pressure and he's proud of the way she came through it:
"I am not even putting the personal stuff into this as well. You have to deal with that, and I don't know how she coped with that to be honest. I told her I understand the pressure - you want to be successful, you want to carry on doing what you are doing. But there is a massive amount of pressure that you are going to feel."

And not only did Cheryl have her Girls Aloud band mates to help her out through all her heartbreak, no, Simon says they had deep conversations all the time. He told her to forget what other people think and go with your heart:
"And my advice to her was - 'You don't have to feel guilt. You have a choice now to choose what you want to do. And it's for you and not the people around you.' We used to talk a lot and we still do have these conversations."
Sounds like Mr. Cowell is the perfect friend! Cheryl's a lucky girl, thanks to him she has climbed the top celeb list and is making millions.
