Stars remember singer Aaliyah on the 9th anniversary of her death

Stars have been paying tribute to singer Aaliyah on the 9th anniversary of her tragic death.

The beautiful R'n'B singer died in a plane crash on her way back from filming a music video for her last song Rock the Boat in the Bahamas.

Stars have taken to their Twitter today to remember the star, P Diddy tweeted:

"Unknown fact: Aaliyah + I recorded a track in Trinidad that was never released- i wish I could find those tapes now... damn. RIP AALIYAH"

And one of her closest friends and music partner Missy Elliot has always had the nicest things to say about the singer, and it's clear she wants to keep her memory alive through music. She Tweeted:
"There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of (Aaliyah) or watch a video or play her music. I miss her every day. I think it's hard for Aaliyah to be duplicated, because she had her own lane.
"But Ciara is an R&B singer who loves to dance, and Aaliyah was that same kinda artist. We knew when she dropped a record, we couldn't wait for the video. I think Aaliyah has influenced artists like Ciara."
Ciara is very lucky to be compared to the amazing singer. Here's the last video Aaliyah ever made...hours before her tragic death.

RIP Aaliyah.
