  • The general secretary of the Irish Bank Officials' Association has warned that 4,000 more jobs could be lost in the financial services sector in the next six months.
  • The latest in a series of demonstrations to oppose any downgrading of hospital services in the west, arising from growing budget over-runs, will take place in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, later today.
